I barely ever use my own mail server and therefore don't get to test it and be sure it works. It feels safer to specify the riseup address because I want to be sure F can reach me using an email address that works and doesn't cause errors or anything like that. On one hand having my own server with mail filter access feels safer and more powerful and flexible, and takes little resources anyway. On the other hand, it's one more tech thing to worry about. Idk.
