[[!meta title=“6.2 | Language Directive”]]
Language Directive
A language directive sets the human language used for localized references. Before references containing localized prefixes and labels can be used, the language used must be declared using the language directive.
There can be one language at a time, and each occurence of the directive overrides the previous one. It remains in effect until the next one, or until the end of the document is it’s the last one.
The syntax forms are:
%lang% TAG
%lang% UID
TAG is a language tag, and is matched by the processing software to the language itself using Kadma’s tools, in particular NLI. UID is a <>
-enclosed Uid of the language, which would be a nli:Language
. Examples:
lang en
- `lang <0000-0000-0000-0000>
The fallback symbol for %lang%
is ~~
. Therefore the above examples are equivalent to:
~~ en
~~ <0000-0000-0000-0000>
The Uid of the language specified through the directive is available to statements using the ~~~
symbol. If a language tag was specified, it is resolved and the language’s Uid is found and used.
